Senior Buyer Planner

Position Summary

Responsible for analyzing MRP output, monthly sales, shipping, and forecast data to ensure appropriate inventory levels are purchased and planned for assigned products. Work with manufacturers to drive cost savings and maintain quality standards. Work with other Buyers and Planners to develop forecasts and buying strategies for products in assigned products. Work with planners to monitor inventory levels and make sure inventory is transferred to meet market needs.  Coordinate shipments of components to manufacturers through initiating transfers and arranging transportation with Logistics team. Work with Planners to ensure ERP system is setup with correct planning data and item setup is completed. Participate in process improvement efforts. Assist with transportation strategies. Mentor other buyers and team members. Reports to Procurement Manager.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following and other duties as assigned.

  • Plan and manage production and purchases of assigned products
  • Issue Purchase Orders for finished goods and components to meet demand
  • Review MRP output, monthly sales, shipments, and forecast data to improve forecast models and demand planning
  • Monitor inventory levels in assigned products
  • Monitor and help develop supplier performance
  • Help maintain ERP system, including item setup, lead-time, and bill of materials
  • Review and prepare all transfer and shipment requests to and from to manufacturers
  • Participate in monthly inventory reconciliation and quarterly physical inventory counts
  • Analyze and prepare reports on on-time delivery, supplier performance and cost variances
  • Assist other Buyers and Demand Planners with daily tasks
  • Help with and assist with convention and events
  • Update managers
  • Attend meetings as needed
  • Other duties as assigned

Education and/or Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 4-years’ experience in supply chain activities.
  • Microsoft Dynamics 365 experience preferred
  • APICS or ISM certifications a plus
  • Network marketing industry experience is a plus.

Demand Planner/Buyer

Position Summary

Responsible for analyzing monthly sales, shipping, and forecast data to ensure appropriate inventory levels are planned for assigned markets.  Develop parameters for forecast generation through ERP and run MRP.  Maintain settings in ERP system to keep system output accurate.  Work with Buyers, Planners, Accounting, and Logistic teams to ensure ERP planning data and item setup is completed and correct.  Work with Buyers and Planners to develop forecasts and buying strategies for products in assigned markets.  Coordinate shipments to domestic and international warehouses through initiating transfers and arranging transportation with Logistics team.  Set shipping and transfer schedules to meet market needs.  Create and place PO’s for assigned items.  Participate in process improvement efforts.  Assist with planning and transportation strategies.  Reports to Procurement Manager.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following and other duties as assigned.

  • Generate and run approved forecasts in MRP and create demand plan.

  • Participate in monthly and quarterly physical inventory counts and reconciliation.

  • Optimize inventory levels to reduce carrying costs and purge risk
  • Controlling shipment costs by avoiding airfreight, reviewing shipment costs, and shopping more competitive methods
  • Assist Buyers and Demand Planners with daily tasks.
  • Issue PO’s and needed for assigned items.
  • Update managers.
  • Attend meetings as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education and/or Experience

Inventory Specialist

Position Summary

Under general supervision of the Logistics Manager, the Inventory Specialist will: be responsible for conducting inventory transactions in the MRP system, track and reconcile inventory, provide KPI reports to both internal and external partners, monitor customer orders to insure they are processed timely, and interact with various warehouse partners.

The Inventory Specialist will engage in various aspects of the inventory supply chain to insure accuracy.  They will need to analyze data, troubleshoot problem areas, propose solutions, and help define processes to drive improvements and cost savings.

The Inventory Specialist will also assist with product transfers to various warehouse partners both domestically and internationally.  This will include working with freight carriers and customs brokers, as well as conducting system transactions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following and other duties as assigned.

  • Interact with warehousing partners to monitor inventory and reconcile any discrepancies.
  • Monitory daily KPI reports and follow up as needed with internal and external partners.
  • Insure inventory transactions are kept up to date and are accurate.
  • Coordinate supply chain efforts related to managing and tracking inventory.
  • Facilitate and monitor the maintenance of inventory systems/audits and management systems (e.g. cycle counts, inventory control practices, adjustments).
  • Identify sources of cycle count variances and works with appropriate departments to correct variances.
  • Monitor inventory control practices to ensure compliance with company-defined procedures.
  • Initiate process improvement, KPI’s, and cost reduction initiatives to improve methods, performance, and quality of product or service to increase efficiency.
  • Work with warehouse partners to ensure they are following maintaining, picking, packing, and shipping inventory to predefined company specifications and agreed on KPI’s.
  • Ensure all functions effecting inventory are conducted accurately and timely.
  • Interact with Procurement and Finance to complete month end inventory reconciliations in a timely manner.
  • Use and maintain the MRP system to set up new warehouses, conduct inventory transactions, and track inventory.
  • Provide internal departments with knowledge of overstocked items, out of stock items, and aging items.

Education and/or Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
  • Minimum of two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience with an ERP system (Microsoft Dynamics AX preferred).
